I so enjoyed completing this hand-knit baby sweater. It for a 6 month-old. The lavender is beautiful with the wood button.

Working on a special order of this adorable baby sweater. I'm doing an initial blocking of the sweater so that I can start on the long sleeves tomorrow. I love the thrill of someone enjoying my handmade gifts. I'll post the completed sweater later this week. Please come back and check it out!
Wow, it's been eleven days and I am still trying to work on the body of this sweater. Seems as though I've been busier than usual. I will be finished with the body of this sweater by Saturday...that's my goal. Next will be the sleeves and then a decorative button for the very top. Any color suggestions? The sweater is a pale purple/lilac on top, baby blue in the middle and pale pink at the bottom. Pale pink to tie it all together? I'm taking suggestions. Thanks and good night! Okay, it's been 3-4 weeks now since my last post. Use your imagination, and this item will soon become a baby sweater. It's going to be three colors: Dark pink, baby blue and pale pink. I'm picking up the pace and hope to post the finished item next week. I love the process of making sweaters. The pattern comes to life before my eyes...and within my hands! Pure magic! Well, it's been a busy month. While making an apple hat, cupcake hat and a teeny football beanie, I also made a chemo cap and a fluffy and lofty beanie.
If that's not enough, I finished a very large crocheted baby blanket for a friend to give as a gift. Please check out the photo below. :) I'm often asked if I ever sleep. LOL. The truth is that I am totally addicted to knitting, crochet, sewing, card making and quilting. I utilize every free moment I can find to continue to get better and to offer you more variety. Please stop by and check for any of your personal or gift needs. New items are posted regularly. Happy President's Day... Yes! Shoulders seamed and butterfly-shaped buttons sewn. The only thing left to do is ribbing on the cuffs. This will lengthen the sleeves and make for a close fit around the wrists.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Well, the knitting is complete and I'm very happy with the color scheme. I still need to seam the shoulders, add ribbed cuffs to the sleeves and choose buttons.
Thanks for following along with me. I'm hoping to have another update early next week, after Christmas.
Until then, Merry Christmas to you all. Take care and be safe. Okay, so it's been a few days since my last post, but there's been so much happening. As you know, Camilla was born on the 10th, right after a weekend of out-of-town family and a big birthday celebration. As it turns out, Camilla was born on her great grandmothers birthday. It was a super birthday gift. So, here I am on line 85 of 97 lines to complete the sweater. Button holes are some of the final steps. I'm hoping to complete the pattern this weekend. I'd like to add ribbed cuffs to the sleeves to make them a little longer.
Hope to post again soon. I started the sweater on 12/6, so I'm 9 days in and almost to the finish line. Hope you have a great day! Camilla arrived today...about 4 weeks early! She is a healthy 6 pounds 1 ounce and 18" long. Her Mom and Dad are doing great. We, Nana and Papa, are happy and exhausted from a long day of excitement.
Well, I'm still working on Camilla's sweater, but realized that I already have a preemie purple sweater and preemie cupcake hat that will be perfect for her. So, I hope to get her these 2 items and then give her this sweater when completed. Here is my progress so far on her new sweater. I'm now on row 43 of 97 rows.
Stay tuned for the next update. Thank you!
Good morning! It's day 2 and I accomplished quite a bit yesterday. It kind of resembles something of a sweater today, but I'm only on row 33 of the pattern. Today I'm going to add in more purple for interest.
The mystery of adding in color is how the striping will look once the finished sweater is folded. |
